A blood pressure more than 140 mm of hg (Systolic) and 90 mm of hg (Diastolic) Is considered as high blood pressure. This was earlier a disease of the old people. But in last two decades, increasing number of young adults are suffering from hypertension. This trend should be taken seriously and efforts should be made to stop this.
The causes of essential hypertension are:
- Too much intake of salt in diet
- Being overweight or obese
- Lack of physical activity
- Too much alcohol consumption
- Smoking
- Stress
- Genetic factors.
After understanding the causes, one can easily understand the means by which this can be avoided. To lead a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits is the answer.
